Before your Mastectomy

Before your Mastectomy

It is important that you take the opportunity to meet with your surgeon days before your scheduled mastectomy in order to have all of your questions answered. If you are concerned about the procedure or the risks and side effects that are involved, it is important that you ask any questions you have. Your surgeon may require you to have blood drawn before the day of the scheduled surgery and it is important for you to know which medications you should avoid prior to surgery and other pre-operative measures that you should be taking in order to best prepare yourself for your mastectomy.

If possible, fill out the required paperwork and attend to any other administrative tasks the hospital may require of you. By having these tasks completed, you will avoid having to deal with them on the morning of your mastectomy.
