Well, I am almost at week 8 on my BR/TT. I go back to PS this Wednesday. Have several questions regarding my incisions/scars as I still have three open spots on TT incision and the scarring seems wider where they are, on the right side, whereas on the left side is still just a thin line scar. Still numb on my hips, but not as bad as before. Especially when I ran into the countertop in an office and hit just right. OW! Have tried Neosporin, Polysporin, and Bactrician on the open spots. Today I'm trying nothing, just non-stick bandages. Let's see how oozy they look tonight. Also, I want to ask about exercising. The area between my BR and TT needs work! Haven't done anything exercise wise as I find I'm still tired at the end of the day, and wake up wishing I had another two hours to sleep. Before surgery, I was getting up at 5:30 in the a.m. and doing a mile on the treadmill. Need to get back into a groove. PS said at last visit I could do treadmill, but I haven't felt up to it yet. He said that we would discuss any other exercising at this next appointment. Otherwise, not feeling too bad. So, how was your week??? -- |

You had a lot of surgery. It is only natural you should be so tired. I think if you go the Main Breast Reduction Board and search for Annette's post on "Why are you so exhausted" you will realize that your body is still recovering from the surgery. Take your time, when you are ready to exercise you will know it. You are working and probably doing things around the house. Take it easy and have some patience. Get those open spots healed. Your PS may say you can exercise, but he is not you and has not had done to him what he did to you. Only you will know when you feel well enough to exercise. On another note, I am doing well. It is 3 1/2 weeks and I am feeling pretty good. The only bad thing is that I had to have a root canal done today. Now that hurts! Terri -- |

Ouch, Terri! Never had a root canal done, and hope I never do. I did go home last night, felt real good, and did a DVD easy mile with Leslie Sansone. Just walking in place, moving back and forth, and arm movement, I just didn't go high in the air with my arms like they did and limited my arm movement. But did OK. Where I felt it was my legs. And I knew that would be the burn. Ok, just a little flame, didn't overdo it that much. Yesterday, I did not use any ointment on my open spots, just a bandaid to protect it, and they looked SO MUCH BETTER last night! Couldn't believe it. Of course they would because I go to the PS tomorrow. Like your car, it acts up until you take it to a mechaninc. Good luck on your root canal. Glad you're feeling good otherwise. -- |
