Tonight I'm feeling a knot right around my belly button area. For the past few days, this area has ached, today it was really achy, and now tonight. This sounds weird, but lately my "tummy" has been making noises. Not your normal "gas" or "stomach" noises, like a gurgle noise, but not stomach, and sometimes felt crampy. I don't know how to describe it, it is very unusual. So tonight, I was cooking supper and bent over slightly to do something and PAIN. Getting up and down is uncomfortable. And I just went into bathroom and felt that area and it feels like a hard knot right in the middle of my stomach, right around the BB area. Has anyone else, who I'm hoping is reading this, had this happen? (I don't wear my compression garment during the day at work but as soon as I get home it gets put on and on all night till morning.) -- |

Hi Susan, I wish I knew what to say, but I really think you need to be in contact with your PS. I don't have the answers, except to tell you that I do not have the same thing happening to me. I hope it gets better. Terri -- |

I haven't experienced this. I do still have sore muscles in my upper abdomen and tightness sometimes during the day. It still hurts to sneeze, and by the end of most days I feel more swollen than I did earlier in the day. Let us know what your PS says; I'm curious to hear what it is. -- |

Oh yeah, laughing, sneezing, I grab my middle to hold it. Still hurts to do that. It is just a weird feeling. And I wonder if the getting up and down all day, then getting in and out of the recliner at night is irritating something. I have open spots in the incision, and you could see a stitch in one of them. PS said I may have a reaction to the stitches, and I wondered, geez, if I'm reacting like this on stiches, how are the internal ones holding up? Different stitch material? -- |

I do wonder if the hard knot you feel is from scar tissue. I haven't even felt around my BB, but I have some hard spots around my areola, which I assume is from them being moved and sewn back into place. Mthe same thing happened to your belly button. -- |

Internal and external sutures are different materials, so having a reaction to one kind doesn't necessarily mean you will have a problem with the others. -- |
