Especially for Susie,

Planning on buying the 1's your PS suggested as I have a voucher, currently 34G hoping for 34C (better get it or else!!) What size sports bra should I buy???  Do I allow for swelling?  Should I buy bigger band?  34D or 36D?

Tesco have new 1's in, £6, not much give in them, but come in black with purple!!

Don't think I can cope with another 39 sleepless nights thinking about bras, surgery, pjs, holdalls, hairdo's, dinners to make etc etc!!!

Hi Lexi

I had a sports bra nightmare.  I seemed to have ended up with far too many

I was 32G and wanted to be 32B.  I am currently wearing a 34C which is comfortable.  So up one back and cup size from my ideal.  I think everyone's experience has been different though.

My one piece of advice (which I didn't take) would be not to rip off the tags and keep receipts so you can return the bras that don't fit.

There is so much choice out there, but I have found good old Marky Sparkys to be the best.  They are not the cheapest, but lets face it, your're going to be wearing the sports bra night and day for a few weeks and it's going to help shape your new boobs so a bit of investment  has got to be worth it

Hi Lexi,

Wow can you believe the first week of February is over already. I told you it would come round quickly. I cannot wait for you and Coolpear to be

I got the pack of two in a 34d first. I had worn a 32ff prevoiusly. I told PS I did not want to be bigger than a D but you never know what might happen. My PS would never commit to a size but say "I will try my best". I got the 34 to allow for swelling. Even though I did not feel swollen I found the 34 tight on a night time, that was where the little bra extender would have been useful if I had got my act together and got one sooner (got one off ebay in the end) and then I would not have needed to have gone to Matalan and get a 36c. The M&S ones are very soft and I prefer them to any of the others I own. I do have a high impact black M&S bra but that is a little more rigid, but never the less comfortable as well. There is a picture of my bra on my page although it is over a crop top, Kathy has the same bra on in her pictures too. So perhaps get a 36d. The cups at the sides are very soft, no rigid seam, so if you were a little bigger and swollen at the start the 36c would still be ok in my opinion.

I am so excited for you.

Thanks Susie and Bo.

I know, here we are a week into Feb already.  I keep getting bad vibes like I'll be cancelled, must be positive.

Wooohooooo got my M+S sport bras for post-op!!!!

Lady in M+S measured me and said I'm 34" but 'made' me get a 36D to allow for swelling.  However, I tried on today when got home from weekend away and I feel a 34D might be better.  I feel my G cup boobs can fit in as it's quite soft and stretchy.  Might change them.

She was lovely and told me to go back post-op to let her know how I get on.

Also got a 34D from Primark.  Then found 2 Tesco 34D in drawer that I bought last year!!

Why dont you just by a few a couple of weeks before , keep the reciepts and take back or get someone to take back the ones that dont fit or feel comfy. I was fitted with one before i left hospital but had about 5 others ,matalan ,tesco, asda, i found asda the most confy sports bra.

Lexi is getting excited!!!!...good for you!!

Lexi have you got one of those 'bra extenders'?  would be good if you are more swollen than a 34 band...  Mine for post op are sized like S, M, L, XL... so I got M (Medium) but if they were sized like your new ones, I'd have gone for a 36D....thats what I had been thinking anyway.  A friend who buys really nice bras gave me a load of her 34C's (almost like new) and I can see there are differences with the different brands, not much though..... so Lexi I will be disappointed if my PS leaves me bigger than a C....

Went to M+S and changed bras for 34D.

Saw bra extenders in La Senza but they were £5 and saw on Ebay for about £2 incl p+p.

I have put them in my new "hospital holdall"!!! pmsl

I feel a bit daft but I only discovered this week that there is a little metal hook on the straps of the pack of 2 M&S bra's that make your bra into a racer back. That is probably why I found the straps too long and the dressing nurse said they were not supportive enough and I got my mom to put stitches in them. If you do have it on the racer back setting it feels far more supportive and even more comfortable. MMMmmmm only took me two and a half months to discover that. You would probably need some help to clip it together right after your BR but now I can manage to contort myself to do it all by myself.

Yes Susie I noticed that as when I took them out of box I had to separate straps.  Thanks for the tip

Hey, Lexi!   Let's see a little more excitement over your impending BR!!      There IS such a thing as being TOO understated!!!

Lynn

By CoolPear On 02/28/10 07:30 am
Ha ha! Lynn is looking for fun!!!

Well if I didnt have this apprehension about whether there will be a bed available for me, I'd be more upbeat about getting rid of these huge chesticles of mine next week!!!   !!! and I really could let you see more excitement!  But sure reading what Lexi and others will post will be a great time-killer for me as I wait! and as I try to erase the DVD that goes around in me head!!!

So come on Lexi and all of next weeks BR buddies!!

Lynn you are too funny!! xx

By Twinlynn On 02/28/10 09:43 am
Coolpear!!

"CHESTICLES"  - that is just tooooooooooo funny!! I LOVE it! I'm going to commandeer the term for American use!!

I would be EXACTLY like you---afraid to rev up with excitement--CERTAIN I'd get that same phone call again!          But we are called 'pessimists'--and there are Lexis in this world to take that word out of the dictionary!!

Did you see that funny Monty Python movie "Life of Brian"--where they sing that hilarious song "You've Got to Look on the Bright Side of Life"....And all those men on their crosses are starting to smile.....brightening up--and joining right in!?

Lynn
