Hi guys its now almost 3 months since my BR, and anyone who remembers how low I was feeling 2 weeks post op, heres an update. I FEEL AMAZING!!! I love my new boobs and for the first time since I was 16 I just feel that I am normal! OK Im not a B or C cup but my boobs look right!! For the first time I have been able to go to M&S and not only be able to fit in one of their bras, but have a choice of many!! Anyone who is about to be , or just OTR, dont expect too much too soon, and take it easy. Anyone who is debating whether to have a reduction, its been the best thing Ive done ( minus my hubby n kids!!) Go for it!!! Fii xxx PS Siv n Grasshopper, thanks for all the support when I needed it most. BR 5/11/09 590g removed from each breast. 36 HH to 36 DD !! |

Lovely post Fii....very good for those of us who are still waiting for our BR, and for those who are not long over theirs! Must be a great feeling to 'feel amazing' and to feel normal!!! and to be able to have lots of bras to choose from in M&S. Our M&S don't carry any bigger than my size (34GG) so if I was to continue 'growing!'...it would be special orders for me! how embarrassing to have to ask the fitter (who is about a B cup!) to special order!! So with 590g from each side, you went down about 7 sizes, am I right...and you may still go down in the months ahead, brilliant! Otherwise how are you doing, do you have 'any' soreness now? ((Hug)) BR on 3rd March, hopefully! |

Thanx all of you. My physical recovery was fine , very few problems, only needed paracetamol after day 5!, not taken any now for ages. Emotional recovery has been much slower, I really have been shocked by the emotional rollercoaster, especially the lows and feeling that I was still too big, I have been happy and on an even keel for the past three weeks, so hopefully thats it now! Hi Fii, Re; emotional recovery, I can only imagine how you felt, but i am so glad that your feeling better. It made me think of the psychological evaluation i had, part of the hoops that you need to go through when your going throught the NHS. The psychologist asked how i would feel when they were reduced and i answered honestly and with much soul searching, which was i really dont know. Whether you loved or loathed you breasts they are part of you and it would be an emotional time, in all honesty i think any major surgery would be and that is what a breast reduction is. People believe that it is a cosmetic procedure, but it is more than that, it is a major procedure that can have consequences and not one any of us have entered into lightly, it is a kind of last resort( we've all tried the healthy eating, excercise, etc). I am so glad you feel better now and i wish you all the best in the coming months (big hugs). Lexi; best of luck.....it wont be long now. Best wishes, Lyndi |

Good for you, Im 3 months in too, and have gotten new bras from M & S, I am a 32E, (I find M&S bras to be bigger on the band size and smaller on the cup size than other "premium" brand bras, but if they fit, it doesnt matter what size the label says) im bigger than I thought I wanted to be, but im smaller and perkier than I was in my early 20's and "yes" as you said they look just right. Love to everyone, good luck for those still in waiting. Tracey -- |

Hi Fii, I was so pleased to read your post. I told you it would all come right in the end! It's lovely to feel 'normal' isn't it? One of the finest things about having a BR, IMO, is being able to put on a pair of jeans and a t shirt, walk down the street and feel normal. A simple act but wonderful! Glad you will be able to experience it too. Take care. Cheers B. xx -- |

Hi Fii, will come and cu soon and we can compare, this website is brill - thanks for the link - scaryxx 32H now currently 34 c (why did I go up 2 inches??) x |
| ||
|
Scarey - you might of gone up a band size coz of swelling, but I have also read a lot on here that we don't necessarily wear the right size when we are lugging our big boobies around and sometimes wear a tighter band for support. I LONG to wear a 34C Maybe a 32D will fit at a later stage -- |
| ||
|
thanks for that, to be honest I don't really care what my band size is as long as I am not an H anymore - feel like shouting it from the rooftops!!! Good luck with yours, reading this website makes me wonder if there will be any big boobed ladies left!! Good luck x |

| Bra sizing is very difficult - I'm now just over 4 weeks OTR and I was 32HH. I am still measuring under boobs at 32 inches, but no way does a 32 inch back fit me. I currently can fit into a 34D or 36C which is quite strange, but the larger 36 is too big on my back but the cup fits well!!! don't really know how that works ????? Is this the same for others???? Boobs are very strange beings..... swelling has a lot to do with how boobs fit into bras, look and feel for the first 4,5,6 months. |

Check FAQ and read cup size and volume. A C cup on a 36 band is equiv to a D cup on a 34 band That's how if you ever thought someone wearing a 38B looked big but you were like, they are only a B cup though, then this is why!! -- |

creamy if you measure 32" under bust aren't we supposed to add 4" to get our proper band size....I don't understand why we are supposed to do that. I measure at 29" and I am supposed to add 5" because its an uneven number, so that makes me a 34" band size. Because of difficulty of fitting me in cup size, the bra fitters have tried me with a 32 bra but while they fit in the band they are a little uncomfortable, and so I have never bought the 32 size. I'm just curious to know have you added the 4" or are you actually measuring at 32. Boobs certainly are strange with sizes...or is it bras are strange with sizing!! Yesterday I bought 2 in a pack of M&S sports bras in size 36D in case my surgical ones are tight or the band hits off incisions. And the cups in these look lots smaller than D's in regular bras!....strange!! Hopefully this time next week I'll be lying back starting my healing process, after saying bye-bye to my big droopy GG's and hello to little swelling, bruised boobies!!!! |

Cool: It's the bras that are the strange size! There is no reason they couldn't use 29s or 30s but they just decided to say add 4 or 5 inches. This was to make cup sizing be the difference between the 34 inch and your bust measurement. (1 inch is an A, 2 inches a B, and so on). But of course they could've said 5 inches is an A, 6 inches is a B, etc. I just hate to think what that would be for those of us who are H's and I's and J's!!! -- |

Good on you Fii. Can't wait until I am 3 months along - only just got to one month !!! Just wanted to say, Lyndi I thought your post was fab. I so agree with what you said about BR not being cosmetic but a full blown, emotional, mind numbing full on surgery. It's not an easy decision any of us has taken, but most of us I think are really pleased to be smaller even if we don't get down to our ideal cup size. And what a debate cup size is Not long Coolpear Bo x -- |
