Well after the massive dissappointment of having my op cancelled on the 14th Dec, as my BP was so high, the new date is 1 week today.. OMG.. BP is perfect as they put me on medication which has worked. I have been my BP every day at home, as been so worried, but its all fine. So Pre-Op is tomorrow in High Wycombe and op is Monday 8th... I keep smiling to myself and also keep touching my boobs as cannot beleive they will finally be gone !! 36GG for years and just hate them... Any advice for the next week and what I will need is very very welcome... Jools x |

That's great news!!! Get your lemons in!! Also your toiletries for hozzy, new slippers etc. Make dinners and freeze them. -- |

Hi, Thats great news. Take some halls soothers or similar into hospital, your throat will be so dry after the anethstetic they really help. Thats my top tip. -- |

Oh well done Jools. Suzie, I'd heard about the throat lozengers too so I brought some strepsils in. I didn't have a sore throat at all though I'd agree with the lemons. I juiced tons before my op and just pull them out of the freezer. I put a spoon of Manuka honey (which is antibacterial) in too - it tastes fine. I'd say ... ear plugs Bo x -- |

Wow, You are lucky not to have had a dry throat. (Not sore just really dry) I drank four jugs of water in as many hours and ate a packet of soothers. My mouth was so dry, I had no saliva, I was unable to speak for about 5 mins directly after coming round from anethstetic as my tongue was stuck to the roof of my mouth. Agree with juicing the lemons and freezing before hand. Its suprising how much pressure you have to use to manually squeeze a lemon and it does hurt your sides, other people soon get fed up of doing it for you. -- |

Hiya, Your surgeon will clear you for exercise. I do not think you will be rowing for a while though. I do not know about the spinning though. You will be able to tell yourself what you are and are not comfortable doing. At six weeks and six days I only just feel absolutely comfortable driving. -- |

Oh don't say that Susie. I want to be back in the driving seat next week so I can whizz up to Bluewater and replenish my wardrobe Bo x -- |

Sorry Bo, I drove on day 18 and definately had to alter my style of driving. I could not cross my arms, I know you are not supposed to but I'd like to meet someone who doesn't. Turning right was easy, turning left not so. I had to swap cars with DH. I have a Corsa, P reg with no power steering, its like driving a tank. I have been driving my DH's car which is an automatic so I did not even have to use my arms to change gear once I was in drive. You may be different though, everyones recovery is different. -- |
